About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells within the breast tissue, forming a tumor that can invade surrounding areas and spread to other parts of the body. Most breast cancers start in the ducts or lobules of the breast and are typically invasive, meaning they can spread beyond the breast to lymph nodes or distant organs like the bones, lungs, and liver. Although most common in women, breast cancer can also affect men and is characterized by a range of symptoms, and its presence and progression are measured by different stages and subtypes.
